Exhibit catalog. "Fermon Meads Davenport, the West Virginia Library Commission's first Artist-in-Residence and co-sponsored by the Cabell County Public Library, considers the public library "as a carnival for the mind." His "Libraries Are" poster, commissioned for National Library Week, 1970, was selected as "Poster of the Year" by International In-Plant Printer. His "Free Reads - Get It At The Library," commissioned for National Library Week 1971, was chosen as "Poster of the Decade" Poster USA: 1960-1970 Print Magazine and is displayed in the Mead Museum and Mead Library of Ideas, New York City. This and other library related art were chosen for the covers of the Wilson Library Bulletin, February 1971 and March 1972."
