"This brochure was written by Randall Gooden, a graduate student in the Public History Option at West Virginia University, under the direction of Dr. Barbara Howe, coordinator of the Option. It was sponsored by the Arthurdale Commemorative Committee and Kingwood Public Library in conjunction with community tours during Arthurdale"s fiftieth anniversary celebration on July 13-15, 1984. The brochure was funded by a grant from the Humanities Foundation of West Virginia, Inc. a state-based agency of the National Endowment for the Humanities."
